Scientific Graphic Designer Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Scientific Graphic Designer to join our organization. As a remote-first team, you will have the flexibility to work from anywhere and collaborate with our global team.

Digital Media Solutions works with scientists, universities, organizations, societies, and publishers across more than 150 accounts worldwide. Through our content writing and design services, we transform complex scientific ideas into engaging content and visuals tailored to diverse audiences.

As a Scientific Graphic Designer, you will combine your scientific expertise with creative design skills to produce accurate and visually striking materials. Your responsibilities will include developing graphical abstracts, journal cover images, infographics, posters, brochures, and other visual materials that effectively communicate scientific concepts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop visually compelling graphical abstracts that capture the essence of scientific studies
  • Read and analyze scientific manuscripts to extract key visual elements and concepts
  • Design storyboards that outline the visual narrative, ensuring alignment with scientific content and client objectives
  • Create rough sketches to illustrate initial visual concepts, collaborating closely with researchers, writers, and clients to refine and finalize the visual representation
  • Review and ensure that outputs from peers and freelancers meet client expectations and are delivery-ready
Qualifications:
  • Graduate or PhD degree in STEM fields, particularly Biology/Biotechnology/Medicine/Chemistry/Physics/Engineering
  • 3-5 years of experience in scientific graphic designing, communicating science and complex research into visually engaging output
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Design Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop)
  • Experience in creating 3D designs in Blender is an added advantage
  • Understanding of the scientific publishing & science communication landscape

Working Arrangement: The successful candidate will be working remotely, but collaboration with our global team is expected.
