Java Backend Engineer

Are you a seasoned Java developer seeking a challenging role in backend engineering? We are looking for a talented individual to join our team and drive the design and development of responsive web applications using best practices.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of distributed systems, with 5 to 7 years of experience working in Java and the ability to demonstrate good web fundamentals and HTTP protocol knowledge.

In this role, you will be responsible for performing handson software development, typically spending most of your time actually writing code and unit tests, doing proof of concepts, conducting code reviews, and testing in ongoing sprints.

You will also perform ongoing refactoring of code and deliver continuous improvement, developing a deep understanding of integrations with other systems and platforms within the supported domains.

Additionally, you will manage your own time and work well both independently and as part of a team.

Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience working in Java and the ability to demonstrate good Java knowledge.
  • Good understanding of web fundamentals and HTTP protocol knowledge.
  • Good attitude, communication, willingness to learn, and collaborate.
  • Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD), Behavior Driven Development (BDD) practices, unit testing, functional testing, system integration testing, regression testing, GUI testing, web service testing, and browser compatibility testing.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery environment.
  • 3 to 4 years of experience working in an Agile or SAFe development environment.
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems.
  • Proven experience building scalable web applications using Java.
