Job Overview

The Supervisor US Taxation role is a key position within our organization, responsible for leading a team of professionals in providing high-quality tax services to clients. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of US taxation laws and regulations, as well as exceptional leadership and communication skills.

  • Key Responsibilities:

    • Review and prepare complex financial services client returns, focusing on Hedge Funds, Private Equity, and Fund of Funds. Ensure accuracy and completeness of returns, and provide detailed explanations of any tax adjustments or discrepancies.
    • Detailed review of State returns for financial services clients. Identify areas where improvements can be made and implement changes to optimize tax savings.
    • Identify international filing requirements through organizational chart studies and review international tax returns. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Train new joiners on concepts, technology, and provide timely feedback. Develop training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members.
    • Supervise kick-off calls to understand clients, regular connects with US counterparts, and intervene in conflicts. Foster open communication channels with stakeholders to resolve issues efficiently.
    • Guide staff/seniors on potential tax adjustments due to law changes and e-filing validations. Provide expert guidance on tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
    • Recruit, train, evaluate, and mentor team members. Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the team.
    • Foster connections with US counterparts to ensure adherence to timelines and quality standards. Collaborate with external partners to improve processes and efficiency.
    • Promote the team's achievements towards organizational goals. Develop and implement strategies to improve team performance and productivity.

  • Independent tax research skills for unseen scenarios. Ability to analyze complex tax laws and regulations.
  • Strong communication and written English fluency. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to learn new tax software. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Quick learning, positive attitude, and teamwork. Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team.
