French Speaking HVAC Design Engineer

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled HVAC Design Engineer with French language proficiency to work on mechanical design projects.
This role involves undertaking mechanical design to local and international standards, including Canada, USA, and UK regions.
Responsibilities:
- Design mechanical systems for various buildings and infrastructure projects.
- Apply Canada/USA and British/European standards in design work.
- Undertake design and Revit modeling of mechanical elements such as air conditioning, ventilation, tunnel ventilation, plumbing, and firefighting designs.
- Conduct mechanical calculations using Hevacomp, HAP, IES, eQUEST, and other equivalent software.
- Prioritize project tasks to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
- Collaborate with team leaders and senior engineers to present design solutions to clients and contractors.
- Check own design deliverables and review designs prepared by others within the team.
- Estimate project costs and resources required for successful completion.
- Liaise with system engineers, third-party suppliers, and incorporate their requirements into detail design.
- Prepare feasibility studies and sustainability reports for building services.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field.
- Previous experience in mechanical engineering or design roles within a consultancy.
- Working towards Chartered Engineer status (PEng/CEng/IEng) or be able to demonstrate progression towards Chartership.
- Relevant experience of 5-12 years as a mechanical engineer in building services.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and coordinating interfaces with other disciplines.
- Familiarity with IT tools, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Able to deliver technical reports and presentations of high quality.
Preferred Skills:
- Proactive attitude and membership of ASHARE, IMechE, or CIBSE.
- Good command of English and French languages.
- Proficiency in computer-based design tools like Hevacomp, HAP, and IES.
- Experience with Revit and BIM skills.
- Maintains high productivity and quality of work.
- Cultivates a positive and collaborative work environment.
