Frontend Engineer Job Description

This role involves building and scaling high-traffic e-commerce experiences for a leading US healthcare company. You will architect, code, and optimize modern React/Next.js applications that are fast, accessible, secure, and resilient.

Responsibilities include:

  • Architecting and developing large-scale, production React/Next.js web apps for e-commerce.
  • Implementing Server-Side Rendering (SSR), Static Site Generation (SSG), API routes/middleware, and reusable component libraries.
  • Integrating RESTful and GraphQL services; collaborating with backend teams to model clean contracts.
  • Managing state through React Query, Redux, or Zustand, and optimizing application performance.
  • Driving Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, testing, and release quality; promoting accessibility and security best practices.
  • Collaborating across Product, Design, and DevOps teams; leading code reviews and mentoring engineers.

Requirements include:

  • 7+ years of web development experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with React.js and/or Next.js, including Hooks like useState, useEffect, useContext, useRef, useMemo, and useCallback.
  • Deep knowledge of modern JavaScript/TypeScript tooling.
  • 3+ years of experience architecting large-scale, high-traffic e-commerce apps.
  • 2+ years of experience designing REST APIs and/or implementing GraphQL.
  • 2+ years of experience working on cloud platforms (preferably GCP).
  • 2+ years of experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Strong performance optimization, debugging, and observability skills.

Desirable qualifications include:

  • Experience with the healthcare domain, including compliance and handling sensitive data.
  • Knowledge of testing frameworks like Jest, React Testing Library, and Cypress.
  • Experience with SEO, Web Vitals, micro-frontends, and cloud-based hosting platforms like Vercel and Cloud Run.
