Job Overview

The role of a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer is pivotal in the development of innovative mechanical concepts and designs. This position involves translating client requirements, technical specifications, and industry standards into detailed 3D models using CAD software such as Solid Edge, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, and AutoCAD.

  • This individual will lead the concept design phase, transforming ideas and rough sketches into precision engineering drawings, schematics, and documentation for manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Key responsibilities include conducting feasibility studies, including stress analysis, material selection, and cost estimation, to ensure designs are viable and meet project goals.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, production, and quality control, is essential to ensure designs are practical and efficiently produced.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is necessary.

Required Skills

  • A minimum of 5-12 years of experience in mechanical design, with a strong emphasis on concept design, is required.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Solid Edge is necessary.
  • A strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes is required.
  • Experience in performing FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and other simulation techniques to validate designs is necessary.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions are essential.
  • A strong attention to detail and accuracy in all design work is required.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex design concepts to non-technical stakeholders are necessary.
