Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain complex software applications using the Laravel framework and PHP.
  • Develop and implement RESTful APIs, ensuring seamless integration with frontend applications and third-party services.
  • Optimize databases for efficient queries, indexing, and performance tuning to handle large datasets.
  • Take ownership of complex modules within large-scale applications, managing and maintaining them independently.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering leads to understand and implement business and project objectives.
  • Contribute ideas for new features, improvements, and optimizations to enhance application efficiency and scalability.
  • Develop and maintain key web features from development to deployment, including ongoing maintenance and updates.
  • Participate in code reviews, share best practices, and collaborate with other team members to elevate overall development quality.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices, including secure coding techniques, data encryption, and robust user authentication mechanisms.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends in web development and the Laravel ecosystem, ensuring projects follow best practices.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers, helping them grow and improve their skills.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience developing web applications using the Laravel framework.
  • Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
  • Strong proficiency in PHP and a deep understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles.
  • Expertise in Laravel, including Eloquent ORM, Blade templating, Artisan CLI, and advanced features like middleware, policies, and event broadcasting.
  • Extensive experience with MySQL or other relational databases, including complex queries, joins, and database optimization.
  • Proven experience building RESTful APIs, including API authentication (OAuth, JWT, etc.).
  • Experience with version control systems (Git) and modern development workflows.
  • Basic understanding of frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and working with frontend frameworks is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of web application security best practices, such as encryption, secure user authentication, SQL injection prevention, and CSRF protection.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams and mentor junior developers.
  • Experience in cloud services, CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
