Job Description

This is a unique opportunity to join an international team of experts in the field of software development and system engineering.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Polarion configuration, customization, and rollout. They will be responsible for managing requirements, validation, release management, and safety & product documentation within Polarion.

The role requires strong technical and process knowledge in configuring, customizing, and rolling out Polarion ALM solutions across systems engineering domains. The successful candidate will have expert-level Polarion configuration skills combined with strong domain expertise in the V-model, automotive or battery system development, and experience working in SAFe-based agile teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Configure and tailor Polarion ALM to support project-specific requirements, test planning, validation, release, and documentation workflows.
  • Design and implement processes, workflows, traceability matrices, and custom templates aligned with ASPICE, ISO 26262, and company-specific quality frameworks.
  • Lead the rollout of Polarion solutions across international teams, including training, documentation, and end-user support.
  • Develop and maintain test concepts, oversee test operations, and provide 2nd and 3rd level support for Polarion tool-related issues.
  • Manage safety-relevant documentation and ensure regulatory traceability for compliance in automotive/battery systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile environment following the SAFe framework (10-week Program Increments).
  • Support and coach users across departments (Engineering, Quality, IT) to effectively utilize Polarion features for their use cases.
  • Drive continuous improvement of Polarion-based ALM processes through feedback, automation, and performance optimization.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Polarion configuration, workflow implementation, and process customization.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and manage project templates, custom fields, scripts, permissions, and dashboards.
  • Experience integrating Polarion with tools such as Jira, Git, Jenkins, Doors, Teamcenter, or other ALM/PLM systems.
  • Proven track record in delivering ALM solutions within safety-critical or regulated environments.
Domain Knowledge:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and V-model methodologies for requirements engineering, validation, change management, and release planning.
  • Experience working in the automotive and/or battery system development sectors is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with safety and quality standards such as ISO 26262, ASPICE, and ISO 21434.
