We are seeking a highly skilled Back End Developer to build a next-gen personal finance app for Gen Z.
- This includes transforming bank transactions into smart insights and goals that users can act on.
- We need you to design and evolve Postgres schemas/migrations, implement efficient queries, cursor pagination, and Redis caching for hot reads.
- You will build REST APIs from OpenAPI specs: auth, Plaid link/exchange, webhook (fast enqueue), transactions list/patch, insights refresh/list.
- Our system requires you to write SQS workers for ingestion - Plaid cursor sync, idempotent upserts to Postgres, raw payloads to S3, and insights - Gemini calls with quotas, timeouts, circuit breakers; persist JSON results.
- In this role, you must enforce input validation (AJV/Zod), structured logs (pino), and distributed tracing (OpenTelemetry).
- You should have 5+ years of experience building Node/TypeScript backends with Postgres and a queue (SQS/Rabbit/etc.).
- We are looking for someone with proven experience in secure webhooks (signature/HMAC verification) and third-party APIs.
- Your strong grasp of idempotency, retries/backoff, cursor pagination, error design, and API performance is essential.
