Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled developer to design, develop and maintain scalable back-end systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining software solutions that support maritime operations.

The ideal candidate will have experience in leading teams, contributing to the design and development of software architecture, taking ownership of product lifecycle, implementing Test-Driven Development practices and continuously optimizing applications for maximum performance, speed and scalability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of developers, providing guidance, mentorship and support to ensure team effectiveness and productivity.
  • Contribute to the design and development of scalable, maintainable and efficient software architecture.
  • Take full ownership of product lifecycle, from conceptualization through development and deployment.
  • Implement Test-Driven Development practices, including writing comprehensive unit tests to ensure high-quality, reliable and maintainable code.
  • Brew reusable, modular code and libraries to promote efficiency and consistency across projects.
  • Continuously optimize applications for maximum performance, speed and scalability.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, leadership or management role.
  • Strong programming foundation in Python, including debugging and performance analysis.
  • Experience in developing web applications and APIs (REST, XML, other open sources) and good knowledge of any framework Django / Flask.
  • Considerable expertise of best practice on secure software development and handling of sensitive data.
  • Well-established experience in all phases of development – requirement gathering, system design, implementation, testing, deployment and maintenance, of enterprise-wide application systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of Source Code Repository and experience working with Git.
  • Hands on experience in DB design & Architecture with focus on performance.
  • Have knowledge of caching techniques and utilities like Memcache / Redis.
  • Experience working on Apache, Nginx, or any other web/app server.
  • Experience in containerization tool -Docker.
  • Hands on experience in enterprise level deployment and scaling.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to effectively solve complex problems and make informed decisions.
  • Experience in writing reusable code and libraries to improve efficiency and consistency across multiple projects.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
