Associate - Operations Specialist

Job Summary:

This role is responsible for reviewing property damage from various perils, including wind, hail, and water, based on images and documentation received from vendors and insured parties. The primary responsibility is to accurately identify damage and create a detailed report of the damage, including sketches and updates to necessary tools and systems. This requires a good understanding of construction types and materials used in homes and surrounding dwellings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify the type of damage depicted in the package received, based on the peril type being worked.
  • Review virtual images and documentation to create an outline of the damage.
  • Accurately identify the size and extent of the damage area, including the materials damaged.
  • Differentiate between various household structures and materials from images and content shared.
  • Conduct a detailed review of the damage and capture relevant details with required tools and systems to create an estimate for the adjuster to review.
  • May be required to review contents and bills related to the damage.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the estimate's pre-fill data meets set standards to reduce re-work for adjusters and increase straight-through processing.
  • Return packages for additional information if insufficient data is provided.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This role does not have direct supervisory duties.
  • The pre-fill estimator may be required to connect with vendors to update or capture necessary information related to completing the damage assessment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 0-2 years of related experience.

Functional Skills

  • Knowledge of insurance policies, coverage, and regulations.
  • Gaining knowledge of discipline practices, including best practices, to support the business unit.
  • Gaining knowledge of different aspects of damage to reconcile, manipulate, and recognize patterns.
  • Eye for detail and accurate preparation of data to assess the value of the estimate.
  • Ability to appraise damage based on information shared.
  • Investigate, evaluate, and identify requirements for the claim based on peril type and damage details provided.
  • Ability to utilize available tools to capture information to assist in scope of damages associated with the loss.
  • Live through a continuous improvement culture and leverage tools and technology to enhance personal performance and collective success of the organization.
