Job Description

This position involves the design and implementation of scalable, resilient, and cost-effective cloud architectures. Responsibilities include leading Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives, architecting containerized environments, and building secure cloud networking solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Implement Cloud Architectures: Develop architectures that are scalable, resilient, and cost-effective across multiple platforms.
  • Lead Infrastructure-as-Code Initiatives: Utilize Terraform, CloudFormation, and ARM templates to automate infrastructure.
  • Architect Containerized Environments: Manage Docker and Kubernetes environments at an enterprise scale.
  • Build Secure Cloud Networking Solutions: Design and implement VPCs, load balancers, firewalls, and segmentation for a secure network architecture.
  • Drive DevOps Best Practices: Establish CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment strategies.
  • Establish Cloud Security Frameworks: Align with industry standards.
  • Optimize Cloud Spend: Manage resource utilization and rightsizing.
  • Design Data Lake and Big Data Architectures: Support AI/ML workloads with data lake and big data technologies.
  • Develop Monitoring and Logging Frameworks: Use Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack for monitoring and logging.
Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, design, and implementation.
  • Deep expertise in one or more cloud platforms.
  • Proven track record designing and implementing scalable, resilient, and highly available solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud networking.
  • Hands-on experience with IaC tools.
  • Proficiency in containerization and orchestration.
  • Solid background in DevOps practices and cloud cost optimization.
  • Knowledge of cloud security & compliance standards.
  • Experience with data lakes and big data technologies.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Multiple cloud certifications.
  • Experience with AI/ML infrastructure and MLOps pipelines.
  • Advanced knowledge of microservices architecture and service mesh.
  • Experience with multi-cloud and hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Knowledge of advanced security practices.
  • Experience leading technical teams.

This role can be based in various locations including Athens and the San Francisco Bay Area.
