Job Overview

Magma Consultancy seeks an experienced Steel Detailer and Procurement Specialist. This role focuses on detailing and reviewing drawings, preparing bills of materials, and managing procurement needs.

This position will be a key contributor to our operations, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality projects.

Main Responsibilities
  • Steel Detailing: Interpret architectural and structural drawings to produce accurate shop drawings and bills of materials. Utilize detailing software (Tekla Structures, AutoCAD/Advance Steel) to model and detail steel components including stairs, railings, embeds, and structural steel.
  • Procurement: Review drawings and shop details to identify all required materials, hardware, and consumables for fabrication and installation. Create accurate takeoffs and prepare purchase lists for materials. Coordinate with vendors to request pricing, compare quotes, and prepare purchase orders.
Key Requirements
  • Software proficiency: Tekla Structures or AutoCAD/Advance Steel. Experience with Bluebeam Revu and Excel is essential. Familiarity with Revit or Tekla EPM (FabSuite) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of structural and architectural steel fabrication. Ability to read and interpret complex architectural and structural drawings. Experience preparing takeoffs and bills of materials from shop drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal). Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently. Prior experience working with U.S.-based construction or fabrication companies is preferred.
