Deputy Manager Job Description

The Deputy Manager plays a crucial role in customer projects, acting as the Single Point Of Contact (SPOC) for technical topics. This position involves leading teams from diverse stakeholders using a task force model, ensuring seamless collaboration and streamlined project execution.

The key responsibilities of a Deputy Manager include:

  • Conducting measurements on engine and vehicle levels according to provided plans at customer locations and reporting results.
  • Preparing preliminary calibration data and executing first fire activities as per project requirements.
  • Leading the system engineering process for customer projects, encompassing STRS, System Layout, BOM, RFQ point 2 point response, HARA, QGC support, and IFMEA.
  • Tracking and reporting individual task efforts to project owners, ensuring timely completion and efficient resource allocation.
  • Defining requirements for component development based on project needs and portfolio gaps, aligning with business objectives.
  • Providing technical support to stakeholders during project courses, addressing their queries and concerns.
  • Planning, executing, and reporting SAR activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Estimating efforts for project acquisition and complete project scope, making informed decisions about resource allocation.
  • Performing TCO assessments for customer applications with different powertrains, identifying cost-effective solutions.
  • Conducting CAF analysis and reporting gaps with possible measures for closure, driving process improvements.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in powertrain developments, with a strong understanding of technical principles.
  • At least 3 years of experience in customer project management/technical lead roles for systems/calibration, demonstrating leadership capabilities.
  • Prior experience in Diesel, Gasoline/CNG systems, with knowledge of system release processes and release measurements.
  • Familiarity with MBSE - Model Based System Engineering Approaches, a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle technical and legal requirements from customer projects.
