The Opportunity

We are expanding engineering capabilities in India and seeking a skilled CAD Designer with SolidWorks expertise to develop interior components for the railway industry.

This is a senior-level role requiring CAD skills, deep engineering understanding, strong customer communication and manufacturable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop interior panels for trains using SolidWorks.
  • Translate customer concepts into production-ready designs.
  • Adapt panel designs to changing project requirements while minimizing tool modifications.
  • Engineer rear side construction of panels including reinforcements, ventilation and mounting details.
  • Work directly with clients to align technical feasibility, cost efficiency and manufacturability.
  • Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, safety requirements and customer specifications.

Requirements & Skills

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in CAD design for thermoformed plastic components.
  • SolidWorks expert level (surface modeling, assemblies and tool-related adjustments).
  • Background in railway, automotive or transportation interiors.
  • Knowledge of plastics material properties, tooling and production processes.
  • Ability to translate conceptual sketches into manufacturable designs.
  • Strong communication skills for customer interaction and engineering discussions.
  • Independent, structured and detail-oriented working style.
  • German language skills a strong plus.
