Device Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Device Development Specialist to lead our Meter Dose Inhaler dosage form workstream. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in device development, medical devices, and pharmaceutical industry.

The selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating with device manufacturers, conducting design verification, and ensuring compliance with user requirements. Additionally, they will develop test methods, conduct relevant testing, validation, and in-silico clinical simulations to ensure patient safety, efficacy, and clinical outcomes.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for new product development for Injectable delivery devices, including technology/platform selection, design fine-tuning, and development. They should have basic knowledge in medical devices, CFD, and other simulation tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of Meter Dose Inhaler dosage form workstream
  • Coordinate with device manufacturers for device selection and development
  • Conduct design verification and ensure compliance with user requirements
  • Develop test methods and conduct relevant testing, validation, and in-silico clinical simulations
  • Support development of injectable drug-device combination products
  • Design custom delivery devices and troubleshoot issues
  • Build in-vitro setups, test design iterations, and analyze drug delivery performance
  • Validate simulation results through lab experiments

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred)
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in medical device development or drug delivery devices in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Knowledge of medical devices, combination product development, and authoring Design History files
  • Familiarity with aerosol testing methodologies, drug deposition modeling, and CFD tools
  • Experience with MATLAB and ability to interpret results
