As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in creating innovative, technically sound, cost-effective solutions that meet and exceed customer requirements.

You will be responsible for managing the first article inspection /PPAPs for the outsourcing team and addressing documentation to reduce technical debt.

You will analyse engineering inputs, design proposals, and other technical information, guiding the team to design, develop, and customise products and service offerings that are fit for purpose for our customers.

You will collaborate and build relationships with internal customers and cross-functional teams, facilitating their involvement in the testing and validating of new products, solutions, and services to provide BRADKEN with a market advantage.

You are a problem solver who will provide feedback and opportunities for improvement in products in line with BRADKEN standards.

You will identify and capture new ideas that have the potential to be BRADKEN Intellectual Property and share them with the Engineering Team Lead for further action.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Relevant degree in engineering in mechanical or similar stream
  • Ability to understand customer needs and provide a high number of solutions within a short timeframe
  • Preferred 5 years of experience in a similar role within the mining or heavy fabrication industry
  • Excellent grasp of engineering and design principles
  • Highly skilled in CAD, PLM, and CAE tools, preferably NX, Teamcenter, and Ansys
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Skilled in GD&T and tolerance studies
  • Knowledge of mining products like GET, Undercarriage, Mill liners, Buckets & Dump Bodies, and Fixed Plant equipment can be an added advantage
  • Knowledge of the New Product Development process and design for Six Sigma or APQP can be a value add
  • Able to write technical reports and give effective technical presentations to internal customers
  • The ability to speak Spanish fluently can be an added advantage
