Job Summary

The Front End Engineering Officer has a pivotal role in supporting the valves quotation process and submitting quotations to customers/distributors in a timely and accurate manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review customer specifications and provide suitable technical solutions that meet customer requirements.
  • Analyze costing and build pricing to ensure compliance with SBU rules and manufacturing plant lead time guidelines.
  • Participate in pre-bid technical clarification meetings with customers to ensure alignment with customer specifications.
  • Prepare technical bids with clarifications and deviations, collaborating with other functions.
  • Manage Request for Quotations (RFQ) to actuator manufacturers and complete automated valves quotations.
  • Send and manage RFQ for missing costing to complete competitive costing assessments.
  • Ensure technical support and clarification to local Sales Offices.
  • Manage Intercompany product quotations in compliance with Company and/or Business Unit Pricing Policies.
  • Translate customer specifications into product information, including commercial Bill Of Material and other documents.
  • Receipt and release of orders to manufacturing, including creation of inspection and test plans.
  • Participate in post-order technical meetings to ensure consistency with agreed conditions.
  • Be a point of reference for TQs during post-order contract review meetings.
  • Support Internal Project Management team with change orders.
  • Provide solutions to the Procurement Department if cost estimations are incorrect.
Requirements

Key qualifications for this role include:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a technical area, with mechanical engineering being a preferred background.
  • Fluent in English, with one other language being a preferred asset.
  • Previous experience in the flow control industry, with a good understanding of valve and actuation applications.
  • Strong knowledge of fluid mechanics, electro-mechanical equipment, and metal physical/chemical properties.
  • Familiarity with Pressure Equipment Directive (ASME, ANSI, API) standards is preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand technical specifications and literature.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Minimum years of experience in the O&G valves industry or similar (piping, piping equipment).
