Manufacturing Specialist

Are you a highly motivated and hands-on individual with a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering looking to start or grow your career in the manufacturing, engineering, or industrial sector? We are seeking a talented Junior Engineer to join our production and operations team as a Technical Associate or Production Supervisor. This role involves supporting day-to-day manufacturing operations, monitoring production lines, ensuring quality standards, and improving production efficiency in alignment with safety and company protocols.

• Production Supervision & Monitoring: Monitor assigned machinery or production lines to ensure smooth operation and output. Supervise and guide workers/operators on the shop floor in achieving daily targets. Check material availability, production schedules, and maintain line efficiency. Identify bottlenecks in production and report them for resolution.
• Process & Equipment Handling: Operate, inspect, and maintain basic mechanical equipment as per standard procedures. Assist in the setup and calibration of machines as per process specifications. Ensure all tools, jigs, and fixtures are properly maintained and utilized.
• Quality Control: Conduct in-process inspections and report any deviations from quality standards. Ensure products meet design specifications and quality benchmarks. Work with the quality assurance team to implement corrective actions for defects.
• Daily Reporting & Documentation: Maintain production logs, machine downtime reports, shift performance sheets, and checklists. Track daily output, material usage, and wastage. Assist in preparing work instructions and SOPs for machinery and processes.
• Team Coordination: Coordinate with stores, planning, maintenance, and quality teams for smooth workflow. Report issues or escalations to the Production Manager or Engineering Head. Support training of new workers or junior staff on machine handling and safety protocols.
• Health, Safety & Housekeeping: Ensure that all safety procedures are followed on the shop floor. Monitor use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and promote a safe working culture. Maintain 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) practices in the work area.
• Preventive Maintenance: Support the maintenance team in routine checks, basic repairs, and troubleshooting. Report equipment faults, wear and tear, or abnormal noise/vibration immediately.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of mechanical systems, machine operations, and basic manufacturing principles.
• Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to read mechanical drawings, part diagrams, and understand tolerance levels.
• Communication: Good verbal communication with co-workers, operators, and supervisors. Basic written skills to maintain records.
• Problem-Solving: Basic troubleshooting of production or equipment-related issues.
• Discipline & Punctuality: Strong work ethic, attendance record, and willingness to work in shifts.
• Teamwork: Ability to work as part of a team and support collective production goals.
