Financial Research Analyst

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Financial Research Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our research department, you will be responsible for developing and refining complex financial models, conducting various valuation methods, and providing accurate and well-reasoned valuations.
You will also be expected to screen large datasets to identify potential investment opportunities, present research findings to portfolio managers/CIOs, and maintain accurate and comprehensive databases to support research efforts.
Additionally, you will analyze news and market trends to identify key drivers of company performance and respond to ad hoc research requests, demonstrating flexibility and expertise.
Maintain open communication with clients and other stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration and optimal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine complex financial models, incorporating scenario analysis to inform investment decisions.
- Conduct various valuation methods, including DCF, relative, and SOTP, to provide accurate and well-reasoned valuations.
- Screen large datasets to identify potential investment opportunities and support portfolio managers/CIOs in their investment strategies.
- Present research findings and stock updates to portfolio managers/CIOs, facilitating informed investment decisions.
- Prepare earnings reviews, previews, and attend management meetings to stay up-to-date on company performance.
- Create pitch notes/presentations and industry/thematic notes to effectively communicate research insights.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive databases to support research efforts.
- Analyze news and market trends to identify key drivers of company performance.
- Respond to ad hoc research requests, demonstrating flexibility and expertise.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Demonstrated skills:
- Fundamental knowledge of financial modeling and research report-writing/presentation-making.
- Critical thinking skills, with ability to connect the dots across diverse sectors and industries.
- Effective client relationship management and communication skills, fostering strong partnerships.
- A keen eye for detail and ability to manage multiple workflows under tight deadlines.
- Strong numerical abilities, with a focus on accuracy and precision.
- Proficiency in building complex, error-free models with clearly defined revenue/cost driver assumptions.
- Capacity to conduct earnings sensitivity analysis and provide thoughtful valuation views.
- Excellent writing skills, conveying complex ideas in a logical and structured manner.
- Ability to write engaging bulletins and one-page summaries that add value to the research effort.
- Strength in linking macro/industry analysis to actionable insights.
- Proficiency in creating effective presentations that drive results.
Tech stack:
- Familiarity with Python, SQL, Power BI is advantageous.
