Mechanical Engineering Design Specialist

The MEP CAD Technician role is a critical support function for the design and delivery of Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health services. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed 2D drawings and 3D models of mechanical, electrical, and public health systems in AutoCAD and/or Revit (BIM).
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to translate design concepts into coordinated drawings.
- Ensure drawings comply with project requirements, building regulations, industry standards, and company CAD/BIM protocols.
- Assist in the development of coordinated services drawings, clash detection, and model updates.
- Maintain drawing registers, file management systems, and revision control.
- Support project teams in producing tender, construction, and as-built drawings.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (essential) and Revit MEP/BIM (preferred).
- Experience in preparing MEP drawings and understanding of building services design.
- Familiarity with British Standards, Building Regulations, and industry codes of practice.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage workload, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Experience with Navisworks, clash detection, or other BIM coordination tools.
