**Job Title:** Senior Ruby on Rails EngineerAbout the Role:We're seeking a skilled Ruby on Rails developer to join our distributed engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining scalable, high-performance web applications while improving legacy codebases for better reliability and maintainability.You'll work closely with cross-functional teams in an asynchronous environment and contribute to robust technical solutions, comprehensive documentation, and best-in-class development practices.
  • Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable applications using Ruby on Rails.
  • Debug and enhance legacy systems with a strong focus on reliability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Write clean, modular, and well-documented code following best practices.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.
  • Collaborate asynchronously with cross-functional teams; contribute to and maintain technical documentation.
  • Design and optimize PostgreSQL databases with a focus on performance and data integrity.
  • Utilize AWS services and Kubernetes (K8s) for deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management.
  • Optionally contribute to projects using Python, React, and TypeScript.
  • Participate in agile workflows and sprint planning using JIRA, Confluence, and Slack.
**Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 9+ years of professional software development experience, primarily with Ruby on Rails.
  • Strong debugging skills and experience working with and modernizing legacy systems.
  • Proficiency in PostgreSQL and relational database design.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes.
  • Proven ability to write high-quality unit and integration tests.
  • Comfortable working independently and asynchronously in a remote team setting.
  • Strong emphasis on clean code, maintainability, and software design best practices.
  • Excellent written communication skills and a habit of thorough technical documentation.
