Key Role:

Oncology Prior Authorisation Specialist

This is a highly skilled role requiring an individual to manage electronic prior authorisations and ensure timely and accurate processing of oncology-related prescriptions.

Responsibilities:

  • Electronic Prior Authorisation Management: This involves managing and processing ePAs through CoverMyMeds, focusing on oncology medications.
  • Clinical Documentation Review: The specialist will review clinical documentation for completeness and accuracy before payer submission.
  • Collaboration: Collaboration with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and specialty pharmacies to resolve prior authorisation and reimbursement issues.
  • Case Monitoring: Monitor and track prior authorisation requests, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
  • Education: Educate prescribers' offices and staff on CoverMyMeds processes and payer requirements.
  • Knowledge Updates: Stay updated on oncology drug access pathways, insurance policies, and payer-specific rules.
  • Documentation: Document case activities accurately in CRM or patient management systems.
  • Teamwork: Work cross-functionally with internal teams to support patient access initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant Education: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, preferably healthcare, pharmacy, life sciences, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience using CoverMyMeds, specifically in prior authorisation processing.
  • Background: Strong background in oncology medication access, reimbursement, or patient services.
  • Skills: Familiarity with specialty pharmacy operations and payer requirements.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously.
