We are seeking a seasoned automation expert to lead the design, development and execution of high-quality automated test suites using Unified Functional Testing (UFT). The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring software quality and system reliability across web and desktop applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop automated test scripts using UFT.
  • Build, maintain and enhance automation frameworks that support both web and desktop application testing.
  • Perform test planning, test execution and bug tracking across releases.
  • Analyze automation test results, identify defects and collaborate with developers for resolution.
  • Participate in code reviews, QA strategy planning and automation architecture decisions.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including development, product and business stakeholders to ensure test coverage and quality standards.
  • Lead or contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and best practices in test automation.
  • Ensure reusability, maintainability and scalability of automated tests.
  • Support regression testing and test data management for complex scenarios.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in UFT/QTP for test automation.
  • Strong expertise in VBScript for writing automation scripts.
  • Solid understanding of test automation frameworks, including modular, data-driven and keyword-driven approaches.
  • Experience in test case design, scripting, execution and maintenance for functional and regression test suites.
  • Proficient in defect lifecycle management, using tools like HP ALM, JIRA or similar.
  • Good understanding of SDLC and STLC processes, with prior experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Excellent debugging, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • ISTQB or other QA/testing certifications are a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience integrating UFT with CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
  • Familiarity with API testing and database validations.
  • Exposure to performance testing tools or other automation tools (e.g. Selenium) is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of version control tools like Git.
