  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers on best practices, code quality, and troubleshooting techniques.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5-7 years of experience in mainframe application development, particularly in PL1, DB2, JCL, and CICS.
  • PL1 Development: Proficiency in PL1 programming language, with hands-on experience in writing and maintaining efficient, high-quality code.
  • DB2: Strong knowledge and experience with DB2 database, including designing, developing, and optimizing SQL queries.
  • JCL: Expertise in Job Control Language (JCL) for job scheduling, batch processing, and automation of mainframe systems.
  • CICS: In-depth experience with CICS (Customer Information Control System), including developing and maintaining online transaction processing systems.
  • Mainframe Tools: Familiarity with other mainframe tools and technologies such as TSO/ISPF, SDSF, IDMS, and Rexx.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to debug and troubleshoot complex mainframe applications.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work in a collaborative environment, mentoring junior developers, and participating in code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions.
