Job Title: Technical Product Manager

About the Role:

As a Technical Product Manager on the Observability team, you will be responsible for defining the direction and roadmap for the Observability product. This will enable our downstream product teams to build highly reliable products. You will work closely with business, engineering, and other teams to:

  • Build products that provide a correlated, high-fidelity point of view into Metrics, Events, Logs, and Trace data for real-time dashboards, monitoring, and analytics.
  • Build new features that improve overall Day 2 capabilities and SLAs on downstream product teams.
  • Build products and capabilities that drive organization-wide improvements in MTTR, uptime, and other metrics.
  • Enable product teams to deploy, measure, and track key product markers towards feature experiments, idea validation, and end-user behavior.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop product strategy vision and roadmaps, and develop short, medium, and long-term features to achieve the vision.
  • Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners.
  • Develop detailed, crisp business (functional & non-functional) requirements and user stories that can be used to create product specifications and architecture for each product and application.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to deliver products to market.
  • Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the team's ability to meet strategic, financial, and technical goals.
  • Proactively identify collisions of capacity and utilize stand prioritization matrices to determine the best course of action.
  • Work with team leadership to understand the customer and their needs and concerns as well as define solutions.
  • Support project lead in efficient and effective program implementation.
  • Champion and gain buy-in for the strategy and roadmap from partner teams through collaboration, documentation, and negotiation that effectively influences peers and senior management.
  • Develop user experience goals, stories, and requirements that will be used to drive product specifications.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience; bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business, design, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience launching Enterprise products, must have done pricing for Enterprise products. Experience working cross-functionally (design, engineering, usability, content development).
  • Analytical and quantitative skills; experience using hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases.
  • Deep understanding and experience in software architecture/software engineering.
  • Experience working with diverse groups of people to manage and influence change broad technical breadth and depth including familiarity with web services, and platform architectures.

Additional Skills:

  • Possion for creating innovative solutions for consumers.
  • Experience delivering Enterprise products and services in a high growth environment.
  • Experience with AWS' services, architectures, and pricing models. AWS Architecture certifications desired.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives.
  • High attention to detail including precise and effective customer communications and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is desired.
  • Strong understanding of business and/or technology domain.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and dedication to quality.
  • Strong understanding of appropriate technologies, vendor products offerings.
  • The ability to take in stride dynamically changing circumstances, priorities, and assignments.
  • Adept at developing and fostering strong business relationships with colleagues within the department and across the company, in multiple locations and time zones.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and work streams at the same time.
  • Strong interpersonal leadership skills
