Description: We are seeking a skilled Electrical System Maintenance Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical systems within the hospital, ensuring they meet all relevant standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and repair electrical systems including lighting, generators, power panels, and circuits.\
• Inspect electrical installations and repairs to ensure compliance with hospital standards, local codes, and safety regulations.\
• Perform routine checks on electrical systems to ensure operational safety.\
• Create and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for electrical systems and equipment.\
• Troubleshoot electrical issues and respond to emergency service requests promptly.\
• Ensure adherence to hospital safety protocols and keep up-to-date with electrical regulations, hospital protocols, and new technologies relevant to the healthcare sector.\
• Work closely with hospital management and other departments to address electrical needs and ensure smooth operation of all electrical systems.\
• Monitor and maintain emergency power supply systems, including backup generators and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS).\
• Conduct routine tests of emergency power systems and document results.\
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections, and report issues to the Facilities Manager as necessary.\
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and minimize disruption to hospital operations.\
• Respond to emergency situations efficiently and effectively.\
• Develop and implement strategies to improve electrical system efficiency and reduce downtime.\
• Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in electrical system maintenance.\
• Provide training and support to junior staff members.\
• Evaluate and recommend improvements to electrical system design and functionality.\
• Participate in quality assurance programs and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.\
• Support facility expansion and renovation projects.\
• Comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards governing electrical system maintenance.\
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of electrical equipment and materials.\
• Collaborate with external experts to identify areas for improvement and develop solutions.\
• Evaluate and select electrical equipment and materials.\
• Plan and execute electrical system upgrades and replacements.\
• Identify and prioritize electrical system maintenance tasks based on risk and business impact.\
• Lead or participate in capital project teams to ensure electrical system requirements are met.\
• Manage and mitigate electrical system-related risks and liabilities.\
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for electrical system maintenance and repair.\
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.\
• Develop and maintain knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.\
• Evaluate and recommend changes to electrical system design and functionality.\
• Provide technical guidance and support to hospital staff.\
• Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the department.\
• Foster strong working relationships with colleagues and external partners.\
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including hospital management, patients, and visitors.\
• Manage and optimize electrical system resources, including labor, materials, and equipment.\
• Support sustainability initiatives and energy conservation efforts.\
• Develop and maintain budgets and forecasts for electrical system maintenance and repair.\
• Monitor and control costs associated with electrical system maintenance and repair.\
• Report to the Facilities Manager and provide updates on electrical system maintenance activities.\

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Diploma or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field.\
• Valid electrical trade certification or license.\
• Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in a healthcare or hospital environment.\
• Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations efficiently.\
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.\
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.\
• Experience with hospital systems, such as HVAC, fire alarms, and medical gas systems.\
• Knowledge of energy-efficient practices and technologies.\
• Able to work in confined spaces or elevated areas.\
