We are seeking a talented individual to fill the role of Senior Financial Data Engineer. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills and experience in data engineering, with a focus on financial systems.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing data pipelines that power critical financial systems, reporting, and compliance needs. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving business problems through technical solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop data warehouse solutions in Snowflake to ensure performance and scalability for finance and accounting workloads.
  • Build and maintain dbt models and transformations that enable clean, governed, and auditable financial data flows.
  • Implement data pipelines that source from ERP and finance systems to support revenue recognition, reconciliations, and accounting processes.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Accounting partners to translate business requirements into technical designs and data solutions.
  • Evaluate data quality and ensure accuracy, consistency, and traceability of financial data to support audit and compliance requirements.
  • Participate in agile engineering environment, contributing to code reviews, sprint planning, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5-7 years of professional experience in data engineering or data platform roles, preferably with financial systems.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake for data warehousing, performance tuning, and secure data sharing.
  • 2+ years of dbt experience (building models, transformations, testing, and documentation).
  • Strong SQL development skills with focus on efficiency and maintainability.
  • Experience working with financial or accounting data, translating business requirements into data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD workflows (Git, GitHub, GitLab, or similar).

  • Familiarity with Snowflake utilities (Snowpipes, Streams, Tasks).

  • Experience with Python or other scripting languages for automation.
