Role Overview

We're revolutionizing financial access for millions of underserved banking customers across Africa and India by leveraging technology. Our team works closely with our engineering team in the United States, Nigeria, and Kenya to strengthen our existing product and build new product lines.

The team will be responsible for building out APIs and backend systems for our frontend clients, including our Android mobile app. This includes integrating with various third-party systems, such as payment systems, identity providers, and messaging platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop scalable backend systems that meet growing traffic demands.
  • Design and implement efficient data architectures that integrate disparate data sources.
Requirements:
  • You have strong experience (3-8 years) of building backend software for web-based or mobile products.
  • Experience with modern AI tools and cloud technologies.
  • You have strong knowledge of software development fundamentals, including relevant background in computer science, distributed systems, data storage, and agile development methodologies.
  • You are pragmatic and combine a strong understanding of technology and product needs to arrive at the best solution for a given problem.
  • You are an excellent collaborator & communicator, thriving in a distributed team environment.
  • You have experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable data architectures.
  • A strong command on Data Modelling and Organization best practices.
  • Hands on experience with toolstacks similar to dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, Metabase, etc.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language like Python.
