Procurement Specialist

Sécheron Hasler Group is a leading global supplier of electrical and electronic safety components and solutions for the railway industry. We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring supply demand in Oracle for the release of purchase orders for new and carry-over parts, and reporting procurement progress. Key tasks will include:
- Monitoring supply demand in Oracle for the release of purchase orders for new and carry-over parts
- Following up with suppliers for timely delivery of materials based on MRP
- Actively participating in part development by following PPAP/APQP methodology
- Searching and qualifying new suppliers according to Sécheron standards
- Evaluating suppliers based on technical requirements of the product and Sécheron procedures
- Launching RFQs and obtaining quotations from Sécheron's supplier panel
- Leading negotiations on technical compliance, cost, and terms and conditions for categories such as sheet metal, proprietary components, cables, and C-class parts
- Participating in FAI of purchased items in supplier facilities if necessary
- Responsible for total cost of ownership (TCO) for assigned product lines
- Ensuring supplier panel compliance
- Analyzing procurement risk and deploying mitigation plans during project execution
- Closely working with production and quality teams for QCD alignment
- Responsible for NCR and change management
- Responsible for inventory management
- Preparing monthly MIS reporting and budgeting
- Managing internal requests to interco and following up with overseas teams for material dispatch
- Following up with finance for timely release of payments to suppliers
Requirements
Required skill sets and qualifications include:
- BE in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Experience in handling sheet metal and electrical commodities used in railway panels with basic machining process knowledge
- 3-5 years of experience in sourcing and supply chain from manufacturing industry
- Ability to understand engineering drawings
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes of mechanical parts and related raw materials
- Experience in localization/VAVE/competitiveness programs is an advantage
- Experience in a similar position is an advantage
- Knowledge of ISO quality systems
- Knowledge of ERP systems, with Oracle being an advantage
- Local suppliers' visits and supplier audits are required
