Senior GIS Mapping Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior GIS Mapping Expert to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and experience in creating and maintaining maps data. They will work closely with the team to ensure that maps are current and reflective of real-world changes.

The Senior GIS Mapping Expert will be responsible for improving and maintaining city/country transit data, providing country-specific expertise, and developing and maintaining transit data pipelines.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Communicating with stakeholders and achieving project objectives
  • Identifying transit user expectations and data gaps, and providing insights to the product team
  • Validating quality of new and updated data in the data management platform
  • Making necessary edits for all transit data types
  • Flagging issues to Program Managers to communicate with partners/providers about required data fixes or inform about problematic data areas
  • Developing outages and alerts capabilities in assigned cities
  • Managing city-specific data pipelines through the transit data management platform

Candidate requirements include:

  • 6 months+ experience in GIS mapping and transit projects
  • Graduate or equivalent experience
  • Good communication skills in English, with additional languages preferred
  • Experience with Transit projects and GTFS knowledge
  • Proficiency in GIS mapping tools and knowledge of the country's transit/traffic network
  • Knowledge of traffic laws, landmarks, political modeling, and key mapping features of the city/country
  • Comfortable with a rapidly-changing environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail
