Costing Specialist Position

We are seeking an experienced Costing Specialist to manage the costing process for large, complex projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret Drawings and Prepare Detailed Estimates: Analyzing architectural drawings and preparing precise cost estimations is crucial in this role. The successful candidate will need to utilize their analytical skills to ensure accuracy and completeness of the estimates.
  • Utilize Revit/AutoCAD for Planning and Estimation: Proficiency in using Revit and AutoCAD for planning and estimation is essential. The ideal candidate will need to use these tools to create accurate and detailed plans for our projects.
  • Liaise with Vendors and Manage Procurement Inquiries: Building strong relationships with vendors is critical in this role. The chosen candidate will need to liaise with vendors, analyze costs, and manage procurement inquiries to ensure project profitability.
  • Visit Sites and Validate Costs: Visiting sites to understand challenges and validate costs is a key aspect of this role. The selected candidate will need to travel to project sites to gather information and ensure that costs are accurate.
  • Track Project Progress and Maintain Pricing: Monitoring project progress and maintaining updated pricing is a key responsibility in this role. The successful candidate will need to monitor project progress and update pricing regularly to ensure that we stay on track.
  • Document Best Practices and Ensure Compliance: Documenting best practices and ensuring compliance with tax and company policies is also a key responsibility. The chosen candidate will need to maintain records of best practices and ensure that they are implemented consistently across all projects.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years experience in project costing/estimation (construction preferred)
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Revit, AutoCAD
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently
  • BE in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical or equivalent; MBA preferred
  • Willingness to travel as needed
