**ETL Tester Role Overview**

We are seeking a highly skilled ETL Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ETL concepts and experience with various tools and technologies.

As an ETL Tester, you will be responsible for providing high-quality testing for Extract, Transform, and Load processes. You will work closely with the development team to ensure that all ETL jobs are properly tested and functioning as expected.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Understand requirements from High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents.
  • Prepare DEV/UAT environments in Teradata/Unix/Hadoop by understanding the Hadoop/Mainframe ETL flow.
  • Estimate space and allocate it to Teradata DB's in SIT/UAT.
  • Forklift seed data from production to test environment using Teradata utilities.
  • Create forklift jobs in Mainframe to move production data to Mainframe files using Fast-Export Utility and NDM (copy) the data file to lower lanes in Mainframe.
  • Set up ETL Jobs in regression efforts and execute flows in Autosys and Mainframe.
  • Analyze tasks and assign them to team members on a daily basis. Participate actively in DSU calls and defect review meetings.
  • Prepare test cases with the help of Test Plans and review them with the Dev team.
  • Create effective SQL scripts to validate Change Data Capture logic in Teradata.
  • Develop automation script modules in Tosca to execute regression scripts and upload test results to Qtest/QC.

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**

  • Overall testing experience of 5-10 years.
  • Microsoft Azure Cloud platform expertise.
  • Working knowledge of Structured and Unstructured file formats.
  • Avro and Parquet files handling.
  • Python programming skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced SQL language knowledge.
  • Azure Synapse Workspace, Pipelines, Spark Notebooks, Pyspark experience.
  • Functional and Regression Testing experience.
  • Test Automation experience.
  • Git version control system expertise.
  • Experience working with large data sets.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Visual Studio, C#, Java proficiency.
  • Good understanding of Data Governance concepts.
  • Knowledge of data architectures, data warehousing, and datalake concepts.
