Job Summary:

We seek a highly skilled RF & Antenna Systems Engineer to join our team focused on the design and integration of advanced RF and antenna systems for launch vehicle applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Develop High-Reliability RF Components: Create high-reliability RF components such as power amplifiers, low noise amplifiers, circulators, and splitters/combiners tailored to meet launch vehicle requirements.
  • Develop and Optimize Antenna Systems: Develop and optimize antenna systems, including patch, monopole, and array configurations, ensuring high performance under launch vehicle constraints for parameters like frequency, gain, polarization, and radiation pattern.
  • Conduct Detailed Simulations: Conduct detailed simulations using CST Microwave Studio, ADS, and other RF simulation software to analyze and optimize RF and antenna performance.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate RF components and antennas into larger systems, maintaining alignment with launch vehicle RF specifications and structural constraints.
  • Perform Prototyping, Testing, and Validation: Perform prototyping, testing, and validation of RF and antenna designs, including conducting range and anechoic chamber testing to verify compliance with environmental and performance standards.
  • Diagnose and Troubleshoot Performance Issues: Diagnose and troubleshoot performance issues for RF and antenna systems, optimizing for resilience against vibration, shock, extreme temperatures, and radiation encountered during launch.
  • Document Design and Testing Processes: Document the design, simulation, and testing processes thoroughly, ensuring compliance with regulatory and aerospace standards for RF and antenna systems.
  • Engage in Continuous Research and Development: Engage in continuous research and development to implement new RF and antenna technologies that advance the functionality and reliability of launch vehicle communication and telemetry systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, RF Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in RF and antenna design, preferably in the aerospace or defense industry.
  • Mandatory expertise in CST Microwave Studio and ADS; knowledge of other RF simulation tools is a plus.
  • Proficiency in the design and testing of RF components like power amplifiers, LNAs, circulators, and splitters/combiners.
  • Hands-on experience with antenna systems and knowledge of various antenna types used in aerospace, such as patch, helical, and array antennas.
  • Experience with RF testing equipment (e.g., network analyzers, spectrum analyzers) and performing tests in anechoic chambers.
  • Knowledge of launch vehicle environmental considerations, including thermal and mechanical durability for RF and antenna systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous approach to design and testing in a high-stakes environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with MIL-STD and other aerospace standards for RF and antenna system testing and certification.
  • Experience in phased array technology and beamforming techniques.
