Trade Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Trade Operations Specialist to join our team at Cummins Inc. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth import and export of goods, adhering to all relevant regulations and laws.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Researching and monitoring local laws, regulations, procedures, and applicable benefits related to import/export transactions;
  • Preparing summaries of new regulations for review by team members;
  • Updating appropriate supply chain and business unit contacts;
  • Monitoring import/export activity for all business units in the assigned geography;
  • Gathering and managing import/export data (including classification data) for the assigned geography;
  • Drafting management reports on import/export activities;
  • Gathering all necessary documentation to draft and submitting applications for import/export licenses;
  • Monitoring approval process with appropriate governmental contacts;
  • BUILDING AND MAINTAINING RELATIONSHIPS WITH APPROPRIATE GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS IN THE COUNTRY OF ASSIGNMENT;
  • Communicating with brokers to ensure that the organization has appropriate supporting documentation and consistent compliance with import/export regulations;
  • Building relationships with vendors, brokers, and other external resources to understand and apply best practices and current data to projects;
  • Analyzing import/export activities to ensure that Cummins does not exceed limits or violate any restrictions on import/export activities;
  • Preparing documentation to support the importing and exporting of materials and applicable benefits in the country of assignment;

The ideal candidate will possess significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience in a related field such as logistics, warehousing, and third-party logistics provider management.

Estimated salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year.
