Job Description:

As a senior mechanical design engineer, you will play a key role in the development of innovative pressure vessel and process equipment designs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that all designs meet or exceed customer requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and analysis of pressure vessels, reactors, storage tanks, and fabricated skids
  • Performing mechanical strength calculations, including shell and head thickness, nozzle reinforcement, wind/seismic load, support design, and weld sizing
  • Executing finite element analysis (FEA) for stress analysis and load verification
  • Creating accurate and complete fabrication drawings, welding details, nozzle orientation drawings, section views, and isometric piping drawings
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks for mechanical and fabrication design is essential. Advanced understanding of ASME Section VIII, ASME-BPE, TEMA, and international fabrication standards is also required. Hands-on experience in FEA-based stress analysis and structural optimization is highly desirable. A solid grasp of seismic and wind load calculations per UBC/IBC/IS/EN codes is necessary.

Experience:

  • 5–8 years of experience in pressure vessel and process equipment design for biotech, pharma, chemical, or food industries
  • Hands-on experience with FEA tools for structural analysis and compliance
  • Exposure to ASME U stamp and certified fabrication environments is highly desirable
