Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Credit Risk Manager to join our team at Brick2Wall, a global trading house with operations in Gurugram, Chennai, and Singapore.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in credit risk analysis, and a proven track record in managing and mitigating risks within a financial institution. As a Credit Risk Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the identification, assessment, and management of credit risks across our portfolio of Small, Medium, and Large Enterprises, with credit exposure ranging from 50 lakhs to 20 Crs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough creditworthiness assessments of potential and existing clients, including businesses and institutions.
  • Evaluate financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data to identify credit risks and potential defaults.
  • Implement effective systems for ongoing monitoring of credit exposures and maintain oversight of our risk position.
Risk Mitigation Strategies
  • Develop and recommend credit risk mitigation strategies and policies to minimize the impact of potential defaults.
  • Collaborate with other departments to design risk-reduction techniques such as collateral requirements, credit limits, and insurance.
  • Establish guidelines for lending and credit exposure limits based on our company's risk appetite.
Credit Portfolio Management
  • Oversee and manage our credit portfolio to ensure it remains within acceptable risk levels.
  • Regularly review and update credit risk models, methodologies, and processes to ensure alignment with market conditions and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce overdue accounts and improve overall collection rates.
  • Liaise with legal counsel as necessary for debt recovery processes, including initiating legal action when required.
Reporting & Compliance
  • Prepare and present regular reports on receivables, aged debt, and collection performance to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and internal risk policies.
  • Stay updated with the latest regulations and best practices in credit risk management.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM, PRM, CA) are a plus.
  • 10-15 years of progressive experience in credit appraisal of SME business clients, with exposure ranging from 50 lakhs to 20 Crs.
  • Strong understanding of credit management principles and practices, including credit risk assessment, debt collection strategies, legal frameworks, credit appraisal techniques, and internal rating systems.
  • Experience in portfolio management, credit analysis, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with a deep understanding of financial modelling and risk metrics.
  • Proficiency in using financial software and tools for credit risk analysis (Probe, etc.) and portfolio management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
