Patent Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced patent professional with 5-8 years of prior experience in patent drafting and prosecution at a law firm or IP service company.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background preferably in Computer Science/IT and proven expertise in drafting patent applications and preparing office action responses across major jurisdictions including the US Europe and India.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft high-quality patent applications in US EP and India
• Prepare and review responses to office actions from the USPTO EPO and Indian Patent Office
• Ensure all work meets jurisdiction-specific legal and technical requirements
• Project & Team Management:
• Manage a team of patent professionals on drafting and prosecution assignments
• Review drafts prepared by team members providing detailed feedback to improve quality
• Oversee project timelines workload distribution and delivery commitments
• Client Engagement:
• Collaborate with inventors in-house counsel and R&D teams to capture technical inventions
• Provide strategic advice on patentability prosecution and portfolio development
• Maintain strong client communication and ensure client satisfaction
• Quality & Process Development:
• Establish best practices for patent drafting and prosecution
• Provide training and mentorship to team members for professional growth
• Continuously improve processes for efficiency accuracy and scalability
