Job Title: Purchasing Strategist

Overview: We seek a highly skilled and strategic professional to oversee and manage all procurement and purchasing activities within the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, a deep understanding of market trends, and proven experience in procurement and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective procurement strategies and policies to meet organizational objectives.

  • Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers and vendors based on quality, price, and delivery performance.

  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers to ensure cost optimization.

  • Manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and ensure timely supply of goods and services.

  • Conduct market research and analyse trends to forecast future procurement needs.

  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, supplier contracts, and inventory data.

  • Collaborate with internal departments to understand their purchasing requirements and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

  • Monitor supplier performance and address any discrepancies or issues promptly.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and ethical procurement standards.

  • Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising on quality and service.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

  • Professional certifications such as CIPS, CPSM, or equivalent will be an added advantage.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.

Required Skills:

  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.

  • Excellent knowledge of procurement processes, inventory control, and supply chain principles.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office applications.

  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on cost reduction.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for supplier and stakeholder management.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

  • Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements in procurement and contracts.
