Job Title: Quality Assurance Automation Lead

About this role:

This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced Quality Assurance (QA) professional to oversee and execute automated testing strategies.

The successful candidate will lead the development of automated test scripts, mentor junior QA engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality products.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing automated testing frameworks using modern tools like Playwright;
  • Mentoring and growing junior QA engineers;
  • Performing manual and exploratory testing for web applications;
  • Reviewing and creating detailed test cases and scenarios;
  • Collaborating with development teams to ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle;
  • Identifying product/development gaps and escalating to respective teams;
  • Conducting UI and API testing;
  • Participating in CI/CD pipeline maintenance and improvement;
  • Creating and maintaining test documentation;
  • Reporting and tracking bugs using JIRA.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience with modern testing frameworks like Playwright or similar;
  • Strong programming skills in JavaScript or TypeScript;
  • API testing experience;
  • Version control knowledge, particularly Git;
  • CI/CD experience, preferably with GitHub, GitLab, or Jenkins;
  • Test reporting skills, including Allure or similar;
  • Basic understanding of MongoDB or similar NoSQL databases.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not required, candidates with the following skills are highly desirable:

  • Experience managing and mentoring a team of QA engineers;
  • Background working at a startup;
  • High standards for quality and ownership;
  • Strong manual testing skills and QA fundamentals;
  • Experience creating and executing test cases;
  • Knowledge of quality assurance best practices;
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills;
  • Ability to work independently and in a team;
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Additional Skills That Would Be Beneficial:

Candidates with experience in automating AI-heavy applications would be preferred. Knowledge of security and load testing, email testing automation, data generation tools like Faker, Docker containers, and cross-browser/cross-platform testing would also be valuable assets.
