The role involves providing administrative support to partners, directors and managers in the tax department. This includes assisting with processing, assembling and e-filing tax returns and extensions, as well as setting up new clients in software applications.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing administrative support to partners, directors and managers in the tax department.
  • Serving as a tax processor by helping to process, assemble and e-file tax returns and extensions.
  • Assembling and e-filing complex multi-state tax returns.
  • Processing e-filing rejections.
  • Assisting in training, coaching and supervising associates in the admin pools.
  • Setting up new clients in all appropriate software applications.
  • Updating client information as needed in systems.
  • Processing disengagement of clients and offboarding in systems.
  • Rolling, extending and closing projects in appropriate software.
  • Reassigning projects to appropriate job managers in software.
  • Scanning, copying and saving documents as necessary.
  • Providing coaching to associates and being involved in mid-year and year-end evaluation cycles, feedback, ratings etc.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum three years of related experience preferably with an accounting firm.
  • Experience in CCH Axcess Tax SafeSend preferred but not required.
  • Experience with DocuSign Salesforce or similar CRM software preferred.
  • Proficient skills in MS Office programs Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint.
  • Possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills including ability to proofread for errors.
  • Ability to run reports and analyze data.
  • Familiarity with public accounting is a plus.
