Cinematographer Job Description

About the Cinematography Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cinematographer to join our dynamic video production team. This role is pivotal in elevating visual storytelling and production quality across a variety of high-impact video formats.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lighting & Cinematography
  • Maintain exceptional lighting setups tailored to each project's visual tone, ensuring professional-grade visuals.
  • Achieve flawless skin tones, balanced highlights, and controlled shadows across varied skin types, wardrobe, and set conditions.
  • Camera Operation & Framing
  • Operate and manage high-end cinema cameras (Sony FX series, Canon Cinema Line, Blackmagic, RED), ensuring consistency, sharpness, and visual narrative coherence.
  • Plan and execute shot lists, storyboards, and camera movements that serve the content's purpose.
  • Color Science & Look Development
  • Ensure color accuracy and visual consistency from pre-production through post-production.
  • Capture footage optimized for color grading, working closely with colorists to establish visual LUTs and look development pipelines.
  • Pre-Production & On-Set Workflows
  • Collaborate with directors, production designers, and producers to plan the visual approach, assess location lighting conditions, and ensure the smooth technical execution of shoots.
  • Conduct camera and lighting rehearsals to finalize blocking, movement, and lighting dynamics prior to the main shoot.
  • Equipment Handling & Technical Knowledge
  • Manage and maintain camera kits, lenses, lighting gear, and grip equipment, ensuring all setups are efficient, safe, and production-ready.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest camera technologies, lighting techniques, and workflow best practices to continuously innovate the visual output.
Requirements and Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in cinematography and relevant experience as a Cinematographer, Director of Photography (DOP), or Senior Camera Operator.

The ideal candidate will possess expertise in handling various camera systems, including Sony FX series, Canon Cinema, Blackmagic, and RED cameras.

  • Professional Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in camera operation, lighting, and color science.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication and collaboration skills, ability to work well under pressure.

Nice to Have: Experience with virtual production setups, LED wall integration, or green screen workflows.
