We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Engineer to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure, including EC2 instances, S3 buckets, VPCs, RDS databases, and Lambda functions.
- Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of backup, high-availability, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Develop and monitor automation scripts and tools for provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of cloud resources.
- Monitor system performance, analyze trends, and implement improvements to ensure optimal resource utilization and cost efficiency.
- Implement security best practices and compliance standards to safeguard cloud environments.
- Administer company platforms to enhance user productivity, focusing on tools like Okta and AWS Workspaces.
- Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines and support application deployments.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other team members.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud services, features, and best practices, and evaluate their applicability to our infrastructure.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing cloud solutions.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional certification is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and architectures, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in cloud environments.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
Tools and Technologies:
- Proficiency in AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, Lambda, CloudFormation, and CloudWatch.
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Proven hands-on experience supporting the Okta SSO Platform.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts and technologies, including TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, and routing.
- Familiarity with monitoring platforms such as Data Dog, Orion, Nagios, and WhatsUp Gold.
- Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration tools (e.g., ECS, EKS) is a plus.
