Cloud-First Backend Engineer

As a Cloud-First Backend Engineer, you will play a vital role in designing and developing scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend services that power our applications.

You will work closely with our engineering and product teams to design, develop, and maintain core backend systems. This includes designing and developing backend services using Node.js with frameworks like Fastify and Express, implementing CI/CD pipelines, containerizing and orchestrating services with Docker and Kubernetes, deploying and maintaining infrastructure on AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), writing well-documented APIs, conducting load and performance testing, and ensuring backend systems follow best practices for security, scalability, and maintainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop backend services using Node.js with frameworks like Fastify and Express
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines
  • Containerize and orchestrate services with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Deploy and maintain infrastructure on AWS and/or GCP
  • Write well-documented APIs
  • Conduct load and performance testing
  • Maintain backend systems following best practices for security, scalability, and maintainability

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and its ecosystem
  • Experience working with monorepo setups (Turborepo, Nx)
  • Proficiency in CI/CD workflows and tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments
  • Cloud experience with AWS and/or GCP services (compute, networking, storage)
  • Experience with AI frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, MCP, etc.
  • Familiarity with API testing (Postman) and load testing tools (k6, JMeter, etc.)
  • Solid knowledge of databases (SQL/NoSQL) and ORMs such as Drizzle or Prisma
