System Administrator Job

About the Role:

This role focuses on ensuring the stability, performance and availability of supply chain systems by providing proactive system administration, troubleshooting and technical support.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure continuous system availability and performance by providing end-to-end support for all supply chain solutions.
  2. Serve as the immediate technical contact for all locations using supply chain systems, handling calls and chats and documenting all interactions in a service management tool.
  3. Troubleshoot, resolve and escalate issues and outages, collaborating with vendors, developers and application administrators to determine root cause and long-term resolution.
  4. Manage automation infrastructure for distribution centers, major distribution centers and ship hubs to ensure smooth and reliable operations.
  5. Respond to system alerts and use monitoring tools to proactively identify and troubleshoot issues within supply chain systems.
  6. Communicate technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  7. Apply standardized procedures and best practices to achieve goals, meet deadlines and ensure consistent service delivery.
  8. Escalate and advance issues as necessary to ensure service level agreements are met or exceeded.
  9. Develop and maintain documentation for incidents, troubleshooting steps and resolutions to support knowledge sharing and future problem prevention.
  10. Support system upgrades, patches, testing and deployments in partnership with IT, operations and vendors.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a related field is preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in systems administration, IT support or a related role.
  • Hands-on experience with warehouse management systems or similar supply chain solutions is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting infrastructure and software systems in a fast-paced environment is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of supply chain systems and their interaction with broader business processes.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to translate technical details into user-friendly explanations.
  • Self-motivated and thorough, capable of balancing multiple priorities effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with HighJump Warehouse Management System, Oracle, SQL, Service Now, Genesys, Dispatch Track, Mercury Gate, Logility is preferred but not required.
