Job Title: Power Systems Specialist

We seek a seasoned expert to pioneer the development of cutting-edge power systems in warehouse automation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and engineer the next-generation power system, conducting experiments to test off-the-shelf solutions.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to converge on the optimal solution, validating it for safety, performance, cost, and supply chain availability.
  • Generate specifications, document them, and iterate with the team to finalize.
  • Interface with power solution providers to specify and source solutions, managing key suppliers.
  • Work closely with peers in mechanical and electrical design, controls, software, human-machine interface, and more.
  • Develop product requirements, lead design reviews, and present work periodically to stakeholders.
Your Expertise:
  • Deep understanding of battery chemistry and trade-offs.
  • In-depth knowledge of battery safety requirements.
  • In-depth knowledge of thermal considerations for battery packs.
  • Deep understanding of battery life-cycle management.
  • Specifying charging solutions.
  • Super capacitors and their power and charging requirements.
  • Power rails, their trade-offs.
  • Architecting power systems for mobile robots.
  • Specifying, sourcing, testing, validating and implementing power solutions.
  • Authoring architectural and technical documentation.
  • Design and development of battery management systems (BMS).
  • Development of printed circuit boards (PCB) and related firmware.
  • Bonus: designing and producing batteries.
  • Bonus: operating batteries in sub-0 environments.
About You:

You have over 10 years of experience designing, sourcing, and deploying power solutions in production. You thrive in collaborative environments and solving challenging technical problems.

The ideal candidate is an expert in power system architecture, battery technology, and system integration. Strong collaboration and communication skills are required to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
