Platform Automation Specialist

At Persistent Ltd., we are seeking a skilled Platform Automation Specialist to join our team with hands-on experience in Kubernetes, Grafana, and Cloud computing. The ideal candidate will have expertise in building reusable workflows using Go to empower developers to provision infrastructure, deploy applications, manage secrets, and operate at scale without needing expertise in Kubernetes or cloud technologies.

The successful candidate will drive platform standardization and codification of best practices across cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and CI/CD. This includes creating developer-friendly APIs and experiences while maintaining high reliability, observability, and performance standards.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Build reusable workflows using Go to empower developers to provision infrastructure, deploy applications, manage secrets, and operate at scale without needing expertise in Kubernetes or cloud technologies.
  • Drive platform standardization and codification of best practices across cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
  • Create developer-friendly APIs and experiences while maintaining high reliability, observability, and performance standards.
  • Design, develop, and maintain Go-based platform tooling and self-service automation for simplified infrastructure provisioning, application deployment, and service management.
  • Write clean, testable code and workflows integrating with internal systems like GitLab, ArgoCD, Port, AWS, and Kubernetes.
  • Collaborate with product engineering, SREs, and cloud teams to identify high-leverage platform improvements and enable adoption across brands.
  • Establish templates, reusable libraries, and workflows promoting consistency and scalability.
  • Maintain observability, alerting, and health monitoring for platform systems and workflows.
  • Develop an automation-first mindset eliminating toil and manual operations through codification.
  • Participate in IAM, security, cost, and scalability decisions with AWS-native and Kubernetes-native architectures.

Expertise You'll Bring:

  • Represent Platform Engineering in strategic discussions and contribute to shaping the roadmap and team vision.
  • 5-7+ years in professional cloud computing roles with Kubernetes, Docker, and Infra-as-Code experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficient in Golang for backend automation and system tooling (any one programming language such as Python, Java, or Golang).
  • Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog.
  • Familiarity with operating in Kubernetes environments and building automation for multi-tenant workloads.
  • Deep understanding of containers, microservice architectures, and modern DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with GitOps practices using tools like ArgoCD, Helm, and Kustomize.
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across distributed systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a product mindset.
