Procurement Specialist

Job Summary:

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing procurement processes, including tendering and contract management. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of procurement procedures and the ability to negotiate with vendors.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire procurement cycle from requisition to delivery, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimize procurement processes and reduce costs.
  • Prepare and issue tenders, requests for proposal (RFPs), and requests for quotation (RFQs) in accordance with company standards.
  • Evaluate bids and negotiate contracts with vendors.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify procurement needs and develop effective solutions.
  • Monitor and report on procurement performance metrics, including cost savings and vendor compliance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement or a related field.
  • Proven track record of delivering cost savings and process improvements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management.
  • Experience with e-procurement systems and tools.

Skills:

  • Contract management and negotiation.
  • Procurement planning and execution.
  • Vendor management and relationship building.
  • Cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Proven experience with procurement and tendering.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills.
  • Experience liaising with government bodies is a plus.
