Job Description

The role of a medical writer is to develop high-quality scientific and educational materials for clients in the pharmaceutical industry. This involves using scientific expertise to write, proofread, and data-check client-ready materials such as slides, abstracts, posters, manuscripts, and infographics.

Medical writers will also be responsible for liaising with international pharmaceutical clients, healthcare professionals, and internal stakeholders to build trusting and professional relationships. They will effectively communicate with team members, authors/faculty, clients, and vendors to ensure seamless collaboration.

Additionally, medical writers will attend workshops/seminars/trainings to hone their skills and contribute to organizational objectives. They will apply their scientific and creative knowledge to work closely with client directors in developing ideas and executing effective medical communications initiatives in the digital space.

Document specialists will perform tasks such as ensuring all materials follow client requirements, maintaining current awareness of developments across therapeutic areas, and contributing to skill development within the medical communications team.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of experience in relevant fields of scientific writing
  • PhD/MD (Pharmacology) OR PhD (Life Sciences) OR PharmD with a good understanding of clinical research and medical communication
  • Clear, concise, scientific style of writing, with a high level of attention to detail and excellent language skills
  • Excellent communication skills, especially with the clients
  • Ability to adapt writing style to different materials and target audiences
  • Basic knowledge of biostatistics
  • Literature reviewing and evaluation capabilities
  • Very good working knowledge of MS Office
