Job Description

The Tendering Engineer is responsible for thoroughly reviewing and understanding tender documents, specifications, drawings, bills of quantities (BOQ), and contractual terms and conditions for civil engineering projects. This includes identifying potential risks, ambiguities, and opportunities within the tender documents.

Cost estimation & pricing involves preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for all project components, including materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, overheads, and profit margins. The engineer will obtain competitive quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for various items and conduct market research to ensure accurate and up-to-date pricing.

Bid preparation & submission requires formulating comprehensive and competitive tender proposals, ensuring compliance with all tender requirements and deadlines. The engineer will prepare technical submissions, methodologies, work schedules, and project execution plans as part of the bid.

Risk assessment & mitigation involves identifying and assessing commercial, technical, and contractual risks associated with each tender. The engineer will propose strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning within the bid.

Post-tender activities include participating in post-tender negotiations and clarifications. The engineer will analyze reasons for successful and unsuccessful bids to inform future strategies.
